Work

Working with us provides variety for the volunteer.

Each house is in a “state of progress” when we arrive. Because the Samaritan Foundation builds between 70 -100 homes each year, the work site is a village of homes. That means we may have a host of jobs needed to be done – not only on our sponsored home but perhaps for the village needs.

The ground may need to be prepared to for a house to be built. Bricks may need to be carried, mortar may need to be mixed. Shutters and doors may need to be built and or painted.

Some of our volunteers will work on the house site; others will work in the wood shop. Where you work will depend upon your own personal preference and abilities.

Our volunteers work along side The Samaritan Staff and local trades. Our work is restricted to the mornings only as the mid afternoon temperatures limits our activity.
